There was one key to the house and it's gone. What now?

Call and say exactly that. The door gets opened and rekeyed, or the cylinder is swapped and fresh keys cut there and then, depending on the lock. You walk away with working keys in both cases.

Half my key is stuck in the door. Is the lock ruined?

Usually the lock is fine. The piece comes out, a key gets cut, done. Pushing on it's how it becomes a replacement.

I am locked out of my car in Kenner. Do you need the original key to make a new one?

Accepted Answer

Yes for most cars. A replacement is cut and coded on site, and models with an immobilizer get the key paired right there.

Is it just homes, or businesses too?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Offices, storefronts and rental units get the same service as houses: door hardware, master key systems and lock changes are routine.

Does renting change anything?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Lockouts, rekeys between tenancies and mailbox locks in apartment blocks are regular work. If you manage or own the property, call us directly.

Do you check that the home is mine before opening it?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Any locksmith worth calling will ask. Photo ID and proof of address come first; the door is opened second. Not being asked should worry you, not please you.
